Wednesday is my home workout and measuring day. I weigh myself daily, and although I’ve been seeing some progress there, the inches are what truly matters to me. But since we’ve gotten Posey, I’ve found that my home workouts have been an unpleasant blend of frustration and challenge. After getting completely stressed out and nearly giving up last week, I decided to give it another shot today. Posey had gone into the play room and laid down on her pet bed. To my surprise, she stayed there for 20 minutes while I did Wii step, just a few steps away from her. I would prefer to do 30 minutes, but you’ve got to walk before you can run, so I’ll take 20 minutes and call it good.
Unfortunately, she didn’t stay asleep after I was done and had a messy accident while I took a shower. In time, I will be able to just let her out in the backyard while I do that, but right now it’s pretty cold and I can’t trust her not to chew on everything or get into mischief. So, we still have a ways to go, but we’re getting there. I figure she’s not going to learn anything if you don’t let her try it, so right now it’s a matter of being patient, putting in the work, and then letting it happen. And if we fail, we start over again.
Now, on to the best news. Today, I’m down a half inch everywhere – chest, waist, hips, thigh. It’s actually closer to an inch on my hips and thigh, but I went with the more conservative measurement. This is very encouraging because I haven’t seen some of these numbers in months. I’ve still got a ways to go before I get back to the numbers I really want to see, but I know that I’ve made a lot of good, positive changes and will continue to improve. So, just like Posey, it’s a matter of being patient, putting in the work, and then letting it happen.

Sounds like you are doing great. Patience is so hard, but the long haul is where it’s at. posey will get there too.
You are having great results! All you have to do is keep on going at whatever pace you can as long as your motion is forward. That is alot of inches and YAY!!!!!!!!! So happy for you (the most patient dog owner ever) so happy for you! XO
Kewl! Love losing those inches! Way to go, you are doing everything right and adapting where you need to. You are rockin’ it!
