I have been slack on taking my measurements. Always seem to be in a rush and forget to do it. But I don’t need a scale or measuring tape to see that I’m making progress. Took this pic after a Dirty 30 at the gym because I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.
My stomach has all but disappeared.
I am still working like mad. Big deadline is a month away. Lots to do between now and then. Kids get out of school today. We’re heading to our favorite Mexican buffet for our annual end of the school year lunch. This is a fun tradition I started with my kids a few years ago. The three of us spend a lot of time together over the summer, and this is a nice way to kick it off. And the food is excellent. So I’m going to go and enjoy. My son has his first Legion game tomorrow, and then it will be several weeks of multiple practices and games, ending about 3/4 of the way through July. My weight is holding steady, but I just finished my cycle, so I’m hoping to see it drop again soon. Just the fact that it didn’t bounce up 3 pounds like it used to during that time of the month is a humongous victory, in my eyes. One of the most frustrating elements of all my previous weight loss attempts and successes had been my body’s natural fluctuation. It was perfectly normal for me to go up 2 or 3 pounds from day to day. A weekend could mean as much as a 5 pound gain. I felt like I’d spend all week working off that 5 pounds, only to go back up again. So to see consistent numbers every day is amazing. What I’m doing is working and I don’t have that underlying anxiety about those daily fluctuations any more. Woohoo!
I’ve not had enough time to blog lately and really want to share some things with you, but hopefully I’ll have more time next week. Hope you all have a great day and enjoy the weekend.
